BBQ Bacon Chipotle Burger

It’s not very often that I am in the mood for a cheeseburger. Since I was though, I had something restaurant-style in mind. There’s just something about getting a burger when you’re out. They never seem to come out the same at home. This one did come pretty close though.  I wanted a nice, juicy, cheesy flavorful sandwich for my husband and I. He is not a huge fan of BBQ but he gave me some great reviews on this one! 🙂 This is what I came up with…

  • 4 beef patties – turkey if you prefer that
  • 4 buns
  • Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/4 sliced red onion
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 4 pieces of Chipotle Cheddar Cheese – got it at Aldi 🙂
  • Honey BBQ Sauce
  • 4 pieces of cooked crispy turkey bacon (1 per burger) or 8 slices of regular (2 per burger)
  •

Before anything, fry up the bacon! I used turkey bacon because that is just what I prefer..

Season your burger patties with Montreal Steak Seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.

While your burgers are cooking, heat up a small pan with butter and canola oil. Add your mushrooms and onions and season with a little salt and pepper.

Once your bacon is finished, your burgers are done and your veggies are softened, take one bun at a time and toast it up in a pan lightly coated with canola oil. Do this on low so it doesn’t burn.

Time to build!!

Leave burgers in the pan while assembling your sandwich. Here it goes..

Add BBQ Sauce to the top of each burger.

Since turkey bacon doesn’t shrink much, I broke a piece in half and placed the bacon on top of the BBQ like an “X.”

Next, pile on those sautéed veggies!

Top with more BBQ!

Now for the good stuff – top the BBQ with the chipotle cheddar cheese.

Lid the pan so that the cheese melts…mmmmmmm

Place the burger on the bun!

I topped each burger with a little more BBQ and served!
