Patriotic Pudding & Cake Trifle

  • 1 box french vanilla cake mix + ingredients
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix + ingredients
  • 1 large box vanilla pudding + ingredients
  • 11/2 tubs of non-dairy whipped topping
  • Blue food gel or coloring
  • Any American decor to top it with!

Prepare and bake each cake mix according to directions on box.

As the cake is baking, now would be a good time to make your pudding according to the directions on the box for later use.

Let’s change the color of the whipped topping from white to blue!

It’s easiest to dump the whipped topping into a large bowl and add as much blue colored gel or food coloring to the topping to achieve your desired shade of blue.

Back to the cakes!

Once they are baked and cooled completely, cut each cake into small squares.

Alternate pieces of cake in the bottom of the bowl. Stuff the cake in their nice and tight.

Once the bottom of the cake bowl is completely covered, using half of the pudding, add a layer to top the cake.

Top the pudding with half of your blue whipped topping.

Since I did not take a photo of that, I do not have one to post!! 😫

So! On top of the whipped topping, add a good layer of cake again..

The rest of the pudding on top of that…

And top it all off with the rest of the blue cream.

Decorate with any patriotic decor you have your heart set on… sprinkles, flags, Uncle Sam hats… anything fun!!

Mangia!!
